Description
Maximianus. As Senior Augustus (2nd reign), AD 307-310. Æ Follis (26mm, 6.41 g, 6h). Londinium (London) mint. Struck circa November-December AD 307. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Mars, helmeted and wearing military attire, lunging left, holding olive branch, spear, and shield; PLN. RIC VI –; RML 204; C&T 5.03.009. Green patina with minor encrustations. VF. Very rare. A well struck and exellent example for this very difficult issue. Superior to both the Vogelaar example cited by C&T and RML and to the ANS specimen.
